Chapter 7: Dally To Danger
“Welcome back to [ Rock is Love, Rock is Life ]!”
“Our special guest here is [ Raruet ], the Elite “Manly” Scholar of Numina Empire!”
“Say hi to everyone [ Raruet ].”
“H-hi…”
“Yes, the audience has some important questions for you,”
“Y-yes? Audience?”
“Yes, 1st off, what does an [ Elite Scholar ] do?”
“U-ummm, I research everything from monsters to usable ingredients and items by using [ Origin Magic ].”
“Mhmm, mhmm, and who benefits from all of this?”
“T-the, uhhh, the kingdom?”
Of course, the kingdom.
A typical setting for RPG medieval-fantasy worlds, I’d say.
“Then, let’s move on to our 2nd question,”
“Eh? There’s more?”
“A fan has been asking, what is a [ Golem Core ]?”
“Oh! Uhmm, a [ Golem Core ] is a creature created by nature that gains sentience,”
“Uhmm, after a period of time they will then manipulate their surroundings to create, a shell or an outer body, which will be the [ Golem ] now.”
“So what made you think I was a [ Golem Core ]?”
“Well, you’re sentient, and you’re a rock?…”
“I’m sorry…”
No.
I don’t really mind what you call me though.
“I thought you were one because there was nothing in the records about a living or sentient [ Rock ].”
“A [ Golem Core ] was the closest to what I can identify you as…”
I knew it.
My existence here is quite abnormal.
Meh…
“Alright, very knowledgeable answers from our guest.”
“Th-thank you?”
“Going back to your answer earlier,”
“What exactly is an [ Origin Magic ]?”
“Uhmm, [ Origin Magic ] is the base for all types of magic, uhmmm…”
“It’s classified into two form, [ Creation ] and [ Manipulation ]…”
“Yes, go on?”
“Uhmm, the one I use is a type of [ Manipulation ] magic,”
“[ Observation ] is a [ Manipulation ] magic that makes you be able to view a target’s constant data,”
“Constant, you mean?”
“Oh, because that target’s information isn’t static, it always changes,”
“So the best way to read a target’s information is to use [ Observation ] ten times or more, then compare them to get an accurate read…”
“Oh, amazing, [ Raruet ] is amazing dear audience!”
“Ehhh?! Uhmmm, th-thank you everyone!”
“E-everyone… eh?”
I still can’t believe an incredibly cute person like [ Raruet ] is a boy,
With all his actions being this cute and all…
You could definitely mistake her for a girl!
Ah, he’s fidgeting a lot…
I guess he’s still new to this role playing we’re supposed to be doing…
During this fun talkshow role play,
[ Terara ], the [ Hero ], is testing out other kinds of weapon as by my suggestion.
Since she sucks at using the sword, I suggested trying another weapon type.
Although a bit reluctant, she did it anyway.
I found out she sucks with bladed weapons, and excelled at handling blunt weapons.
For now she’s practice swinging a huge hammer,
I can feel wind pressure even from here…
Brute strength is her forte I guess…
She’s intrigued by what we’re doing, so from time to time she would glance over here and such,
She would also occasionally clap for [ Raruet ], she’d make a good studio audience member…
After a while they took a break and had lunch,
Although [ Raruet ] isn’t exhausted from the role play,
[ Terara ] is tired from all the exercise I had her do,
I also gained 25 [ Intelligence ] and 25 [ Wisdom ] from this bit of fun,
It’s so satisfying to gain something while doing nothing!
Oh yeah, we’re right outside the castle walls,
And [ Lady Guard ] is guarding us.
“What the heck are you both doing right now?…”
“ *mumble mumble* “
The Royal Scholar has assigned her to [ Raruet ], to guard him outside the walls.
I’d like to meet this so called Royal Scholar someday…
It was [ Lady Guard ]’s day off today,
But here she is, doing work…
There’s no escaping a job if you’re as diligent as [ Lady Guard ].
…Ah, she pushed her vegetables aside.
While they were eating, I would ask them for more information,
I’m kind of glad that they would all answer,
But what if I was an enemy spy…
Well…
I’m not though,
I guess it’s fine.
About [ Terara ],
Poor girl got summoned to the castle due to her having sign’s of a [ Blessed ], a [ Hero ].
As to what the signs were, I still don’t know about it.
I didn’t want to pry,
It seems like a sensitive topic for even [ Lady Guard ], who looked away and pretended to hear nothing.
Her parents live further south, in a village where [ Raruet ]’s parents also reside in.
She was the 1st to leave their village, followed by [ Raruet ] when the kingdom discovered his magical abilities.
They are now living inside the castle walls of the Numina Empire,
But it seems the other heroes are treating her badly,
She didn’t get any guidance from them, so everyday she’d spend it by doing dumb things.
I guess she’s thankful to me that I treat her differently.
Oh,
She also excitedly told me that she likes fluffy animals and sweet food.
She also likes the guards in this vicinity, since they’re very “cool” and look out for her as if they were her elder siblings.
And she says that the King is like the old grandpa,
He gives her advice and chats with her frequently, like a doting grandpa.
Well then,
Atleast there’s some good in this place that enables her to stay strong and firm.
About [ Raruet ],
He’s a year younger than [ Terara ], 13 years old.
He’s a genius, this kid.
He lives with [ Terara ] and is the apprentice of the Royal Scholar.
He also knows magic and has written theories about, the weather and monster anatomy.
What did I say?
He’s a genius, this kid!
Right now he’s researching the reason why the [ Mountain Lord ] took flight that day.
He says,
“It’s very unusual for a [ Mountain Lord ] to fly over a populated area.”
After that he’s started to become lost in thoughts,
I guess it’s very important for them,
This [ Mountain Lord ] situation.
About [ Lady Guard ],
We found out she’s just around 25 years old.
The reason she’s always grumpy, is that all her friends in the same age group are already married, except her.
While gobbling down her lunch, with tears flowing down,
She told us that she was the best at the Academy.
She got too focused on the training and her studies
That she never had a chance to have fun,
She never experienced romance!
When she graduated, she said she would find the perfect man and get married.
But whenever someone courted her,
She would challenge them first,
If they can beat her, she would allow him to court her,
“I want a strong man, someone who can protect me and stand up for himself!”
But, everyone got intimidated,
She never lost, once…
Sometimes she tried to lose on purpose, but she’d still win…
Seeing no progress with this,
She devoted her time into her job.
The King commended her highly,
She even got a promotion!
But that just scared would-be suitors,
“ ”She’s out of our league”, they said!”
“Weak idiots!”
For a grown woman to cry,
I feel pity for her now…
“By the way, Rock, I haven’t forgotten what you did to me back at the gate!”
Oh, look at that, my pity said it had to take a trip somewhere,
I’m thoroughly going to tease her hardcore now,
You have released your doom WOMAN!
After a gruesome back and forth insult contest between me and [ Lady Guard ], everyone is exhausted.
I guess the atmosphere was too tense for [ Terara ] and [ Raruet ]…
Tough luck [ Lady Guard ], but my poisonous tongue has won this round once more!
Oh…
Hey…
A guard is coming over…
“Captain! I have word from the King!”
Eh, so she’s actually a Captain?
She’s high ranking huh…
Why the fuck would the Captain be guarding the gate?!
“Go on?”
“All the heroes are to be called in…”
“Fine, you’re dismissed soldier.”
After a powerful salute, the guard runs with haste.
Is something up I wonder?
“Well? Shall we go then?”
“[ Hero – Terara ].”
“Right!”
Oohhh!
That’s a mighty confident face you guys are wearing.
The four of us make our way through the kingdom with haste.
And then we were greeted with a huge magnificent door.
When I peeked inside,
People with incredible auras and clothing were standing in attention,
And in front of them was a throne with a man in it,
Is their King!
All of this should would’ve excited me if I was human…
But right now, I’m a rock…
So…
I kind’a don’t care…
Don’t care.
